Who We Are
We believe art has the power to reveal issues that policies and institutions too often ignore. And who better to be at the head of this movement for a better future than the youth? Canvas for Change is a youth-led nonprofit that sponsors young artists and donates art supplies to low-income schools to support the next generation of creative innovators. Additionally, we partner with elementary schools through our Spotlight Project, where our leaders will teach students how to spot, address, and repair problems in their local communities.

The Spotlight Project
Leaders
Committed and qualified high-school students are selected through an application-based process. Leaders blend their passions for art and advocacy to mentor young students throughout the course of the Spotlight Project.
Guided Sessions
Biweekly sessions follow a detailed curriculum designed by our team of Leaders as they guide students through a variety of topics. Through these lessons, young learners will explore ways to tell a meaningful story through their work.
Final Summit
Students create an artwork using skills and mediums they have learned throughout the Sessions addressing a community or school issue. They will propose a solution and present their art at the summit. Monetary prizes will be given to the top three winners of the summit!
